Equus Rescue and Therapy

Our Mission

Equus Rescue and Therapy is a 501(c)(3) Tax Deductible Non-Profit organization.

We rescue horses who are retired from the race track, horses in horrific conditions and kill pens on their way to slaughter. We give them a second chance at life, another chance at a career, new homes or a dignified retirement.

Equus Rescue also gives back to the community through programs serving at risk youth through our Equine Angels program and we are developing a program to honor our returning war veterans.

We believe a noble life deserves a second chance.

Our organization continues to grow and thrive due to the generous donations from our supporters and the countless hours worked by our dedicated volunteers.

Your donation supports Equus Rescue by providing medical care, hay, grain, bedding and helps keep our lights on.

  • $20 / bag of specialty feed
  • $20 / horse for hoof care
  • $50 / bale of hay
  • $100 / day for hay for all horses
  • $500 / 10 days for bulk grain
  • $4.50 / bag of bedding
  • $90 / 20 bags of bedding
  • $1,500-$2,000 Rent and Utilities

Donations are accepted through our PayPal account or can be sent to:

P.O. Box 1032 Columbia, IL 62236

Without our volunteers, it would not be possible to care for the needs of our horses. Volunteers are crucial to our organization and we are grateful to each and every one of them.

We welcome you to join our motivated and committed team. If you would like more information about volunteering, please email us at equus.info@yahoo.com to get in touch with Beth, our volunteer coordinator.

Prior equine experience is not required.
