Once rehabilitated and retrained, our rescue horses participate in day camps and life-changing therapy for at-risk youth, veterans, and others in the community. Warriors H.E.A.L. is accepting participants, free of charge.
WWI pilots were the first to say, "I got your six," meaning they've got you covered so the enemy can't come up behind your back and kill you. "I got your six" means "I got your back.” It declares a story of loyalty and protection. Equus Rescue and Therapy has the backs of our local veterans living with PTSD and traumas from the battlefield. Horses are incredible, sentient creatures and are empathic of the needs of humans. Equus Rescue and Therapy's horses come from a similar background of our veterans - they have experienced career-ending injuries, faced betrayal and death due to no longer being necessary in society after serving a human's needs, lived through starvation... a direct reflection of the community of wounded humans they serve.
Wounded emotionally, physically, spiritually, our horses will be retrained and given a second chance by those we hold in our highest esteem for their commitment and service - our veterans and currently enlisted military members.
